Ashurst Wood Primary School

What makes Ashurst Wood Primary School so special?

At Ashurst Wood we are proud to be able to offer a wide variety of learning opportunities which go beyond the National Curriculum.

We are a small, friendly School with a team of hardworking, caring staff.  Our aim is to ensure all children enjoy their time at school and achieve to their absolute best.  We recognise the interests and talents of all our pupils and encourage and celebrate their achievements. The happiness and wellbeing of all children is of paramount importance to us. It is our belief that these are the foundations upon which we are able to build and achieve success.

We are lucky to have a well resourced School building with very spacious outdoor grounds, including a fantastic playground, climbing area and large School field.

Just some of the things we do:

  • All children have regular Forest School sessions throughout the year;
  • French is taught to all children in KS2 by a French degree level member of staff;
  • We have interactive televisions in every classroom;
  • All children are taught to swim before they leave us in year six;

  • We have regular after school clubs e.g. Football, Netball, Karate, Tennis and Gymnastics;

  • The arts are very important within the School and children are given opportunities every year to perform to a live audience.

Our Vision

We believe that everyone has a talent, and we work together to achieve full potential and bring out the best in every individual.

Our School is known as:

Successful, thriving and forward-looking;

A place where children enjoy learning in a happy, supportive environment;

A place where every individual makes a positive contribution, whether that is in school, in our community or in the wider world.
