Our Curriculum

The curriculum is carefully structured with planned opportunities for children to engage in a range of learning activities outdoors and indoors.

Children have daily English and Maths lessons and most of the remaining class work is planned through cross-curricular themes (topics).  The topic is not released until the second week of the term as each topic is introduced with a 'wow' and we like to keep this as a surprise for the children.

The topics have a subject which drives the work e.g. "Life 100 years ago" has History as the driver.  Links are made between other subjects.

Some subjects are taught discretely.  The children have key skills reinforced through the topic work and opportunities are provided to apply the skills taught in a discrete lesson.
